Terms of Service
Last updated 11 September 2026
These terms govern your use of Duolign, an app operated by JeffNet Ltd (company no. 16842613), a company registered in England & Wales. By creating a household or joining one, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
1. What Duolign is
Duolign helps two people who share a household coordinate their money: seeing accounts in one place, splitting shared costs, planning debt payoff, and running a monthly transfer checklist. Bank data is retrieved read-only through an FCA-authorised Open Banking partner. Duolign is not a bank, does not hold client money, and cannot move money on your behalf — every transfer described in the app is one you make yourself, in your own banking app.
2. Who can use it
You must be 18 or over, resident in the UK, and able to form a binding contract. Duolign is designed for a two-person household; each household has exactly two members.
3. This is a closed beta
Duolign is currently in closed beta. That means: access is invite-limited, features may change, be added, or be removed without notice, and we don't guarantee any particular level of uptime or availability. We may ask beta users for feedback, and may use it to improve the service. We'll try to give reasonable notice before anything that affects your existing data.
4. Your account & device security
You're responsible for keeping your device and login secure — use a real PIN or biometric lock, and tell us immediately at support@duolign.co.uk if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
5. Connecting your bank
Connecting a bank account is optional and requires your explicit authorisation through our Open Banking partner. You can disconnect at any time, in the app or directly with your bank. Duolign is not responsible for the accuracy, availability, or performance of your bank's own systems or our Open Banking partner's service — if a bank's feed is temporarily unavailable, some figures may be stale until it recovers.
6. Not financial advice
Duolign's projections, debt-payoff estimates, and what-if scenarios are calculations based on the information you provide and your recent transaction history. They are estimates, not advice, and not a guarantee of any outcome. For financial advice specific to your circumstances, speak to a qualified, FCA-regulated financial adviser.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Duolign for any unlawful purpose, or to access data belonging to a household you're not a member of;
- attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or interfere with the app or its infrastructure;
- use automated means to access the service outside the app itself.
8. Intellectual property
Duolign, its name, logo, and the app itself are owned by JeffNet Ltd. Your own data — your household's financial information — remains yours; using the service does not transfer any ownership of it to us.
9. Ending your use of the service
You can leave at any time — Settings → delete this household or delete my account permanently and immediately erases the relevant data (see our Privacy Policy for exactly what that covers). We may suspend or end access to the beta for breach of these terms, for misuse, or if we discontinue the beta, and will give reasonable notice where we reasonably can.
10. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability where the law does not allow it (for example, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud). Subject to that, Duolign is provided "as is" during the beta period, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions you make based on the app's projections. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the fees you've paid us in the preceding 12 months (currently £0, as the beta is free).
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time; we'll update the date above and, for material changes, tell you in-app.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England & Wales, and the courts of England & Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
